Go play one "clean" if you can find one locally but don't count on finding one unless you go to a big dealer. This is not the latest hot rodded or tweaked to the gills stratocaster. It captures a period of time when rock -n- roll was starting to incubate but who says we can't play using modern techniques with a nod to the past. If you plan on buying this un-sung guitar with plans to gut it and replace the electronics, don't. That's not the point. Play it and fall in love with it for how it was intended to be played and tell your drummer to go take a break. Play some full minor bar chords on this up through the higher registers and you will think you are playing an electric harp. Octave slides using a little bit of tube saturation and the neck pick-up will give you the chills. It simply shimmers !
