In collaboration with renowned tubist Harvey Phillips, Holton sought to create an instrument worthy of the talents of the artist who would play it. From concert band to brass quintet, from symphony orchestra to jazz ensemble, both Phillips models offer players supreme flexibility, control and artistic nuance throughout the tuba repertoire. The ergonomically placed valve pack and compact size of these three-quarter-size instruments make them ideal not only for the seasoned professional but for the advancing student, a primary concern in Phillip's design agenda.
Featuring the sought-after dual-bore American-taper design, these tubas produce an air column that exits the valve section through a perfectly smooth and uninterrupted path all the way to the bell, offering tonal consistency throughout their entire range.
