Designed to complement Sonny Emory's extraordinary playing style, his signature snare drum delivers a hard, fat tone. Beech wood, specially selected for its beautiful grain, gives this shell a powerful appearance.
24 Strands Snare
At Sonny's request, we used a wider Hi-Carbon Steel Snare that has 5 more strands than a standard snare. This design produces a heavy, yet delicate sound that feels quite comfortable.
Zinc Die-cast Hoop
The 3mm thick die-cast zinc hoop delivers a unique attack and decay with solid tone. Its brilliant rim shots are also stunning.
Small Lugs
To get the most sound out of the shell possible, small lugs are incorporated due to their minimum lug to shell contact. Bolts attached to a precision-machined lug nut inside the casing for superior performance.
Strainers
On the release side our H type strainer was selected for its minimum shell contact and easy operation. On the butt side the B type strainer was selected for its simplicity.
