Audio Technica at the Olympics
Viewed by an audience estimated at four billion, Jack Morton Worldwide’s production of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies utilized Audio-Technica microphones and wireless systems. The Opening and Closing Ceremonies were held on the evenings of August 13 and August 29, 2004.
Audio-Technica microphones and wireless systems used in the Ceremonies included A-T’s acclaimed Artist Elite® 5000 Series Wireless Systems with AEW-T5400 large-diaphragm handheld transmitters, AEW-T1000 UniPakâ„¢ transmitters and AT899cW subminiature lavaliers, along with a selection of Audio-Technica’s premium line of 40 Series condenser microphones.
Commenting on A-T’s continued support of the Olympics, Michael Edwards, Audio-Technica Product Manager, stated, “The Olympics are a tremendous opportunity for our microphones to be put to the test in the most critical of settings. Jack Morton Worldwide’s large-scale and lavish production of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies served as an incredible showcase for the high quality and dependability of our products. Artist Elite Wireless Systems have earned great notice as the leading choice of audio professionals for high-profile broadcast events. As with the athletes competing in the Games, there are no second chances for audio at the Olympics. We’re extremely proud to have been part of this international celebration.”
