Fostex FR-2 in Classrooms
Fostex America is pleased to announce that the
newly released FR-2 Portable Field Recorder is a smash success with film schools across
the country.
“We aren’t really surprised,” said Phil Celia, General Manager. “We have long known
that student films are often made with poor sound recording equipment. The FR-2
seemed to be the perfect product to solve this problem for our nation’s higher education
film schools.”
Indeed it is. With its extreme durability, portability, and the professional features you’d
expect from a company that has led the pro audio market for years, the FR-2 offers film
schools amazing technology at an amazing price.
Chapman University, one of the nation’s best film schools, recently purchased 6 of the
units and are looking to purchase more in the next year.
“The features sold me, the price sold the school,” Dan Leonard, Professor at Chapman
University told us. “Each unit fully configured with extra memory and accessories still
cost a fraction of what we paid for our old DAT recorders.”
The Straussberg Academy in New York City recently purchased 26 of the machines and
several Universities are looking to purchase more.
