Numark 5000FX Mixer

Numark, the world leader in professional DJ equipment, proudly introduces the new 5000FX Tabletop DJ Mixer. Harnessing all the power of Numark’s custom digital processing, the 5000FX is a comprehensive solution for controlling the most complex mix situations and is perfect for both club and home production users. This 5-channel tabletop unit incorporates an integrated digital signal processor that allows for effects, sampling, and built-in patented Beatkeeperâ„¢ beat tracking from all sources. Of equal significance, this powerful mixer is incredibly easy to use.

The professional DJ will love the 5000FX’s feature set — starting with the mixer’s first-rate integrated sampling capabilities. The unit provides 35 seconds of high quality sampling, with a full implementation that includes the ability to stutter trigger, loop, pitch bend, scratch, crossfade, fader start, and even play samples in reverse.

In addition, the 5000FX is equipped with an active memory buffer that stores music played through the mixer. The mixer’s internal digital processor enables the user to grab this buffered audio and scratch using the scratch wheel. Further, music can be played in reverse.

When it comes to effects processing, the 5000FX is right on the money. The mixer’s digital effects include chop, echo, delay, isolate/kill/vocal kill, distortion, and sonar. And with the provided wet/dry slider control, the mix of dry signal versus processed audio is always just right. The 5000FX’s interactive Scratch/Effect/Pitch wheel provides a high level of control for manipulating music and sound effects. Users will appreciate the unit’s responsive scratching, smooth effect transitions, and the precise pitch adjustment the wheel provides.

Numark was the first company to offer a Beatkeeper in a DJ mixer. This powerful, patented technology is carefully integrated into the 5000FX for both sampling and effects creation. The Beatkeeper tracks the beats-per-minute of two sources simultaneously and compares them visually in BPM displays and a comparison meter. When used with the sampler or effects, all functions can be beat aligned for powerful results. By using the Beatkeeper’s automatic “Smart Loop” technology, simply tap the loop buttons close to where the loop should occur, and the processor takes care of the rest by truncating the sample on the beat. The Beatkeeper also enables loops to be automatically synced to incoming music. For effects, it enables chop, echo, and delay to be perfectly aligned to the beat of the music.

The 5000FX is loaded with features the pro will love and has the versatility to function as either as a tabletop or rackmounted unit. The 5000FX is 12-nches wide and can be racked with an optionally available 19-inch rack mount kit.

Users can connect 3 turntables and 6-9 line devices (if phono preamps are defeated), plus 2 microphone inputs—including a top-mounted Neutrik® “Combo” input that accommodates both XLR and 1/4-inch connectors. Each of the mixer’s five channels includes complete control with independent bass, mid, and treble EQ with frequency kills, plus pre-fader gain and level meters. Each channel is assignable to either side of a high quality, replaceable VCA crossfader that offers ample front panel room for the most aggressive beat juggler. Fader start controls are offered for both external equipped devices and the onboard sampler. Additionally, the mix can be monitored through the unit’s headphone outputs with both 1/4-inch and 1/8-inch connectors and split or mixed cue options. The mixer’s outputs include XLR balanced and RCA unbalanced master, zone, booth, record, and S/PDIF digital. The 5000FX boasts a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 96 dB at line level.
